CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)

Food Field is part of the cooperative City Commons CSA along with Buffalo Street Farm, Fields of Plenty and Singing Tree Garden. City Commons is a cooperative of farms and gardens around Detroit all growing vegetables and fruit organically for local markets. Community Supported Agriculture is a fantastic way for people who care about local food, sustainable agriculture and revitalizing the local economy to get directly involved in making it a reality. CSA members support the farms by buying seasonal “shares” that provide them with vegetables and other farm products. Members receive boxes of farm fresh goodies every week during the growing season.

The 2015 season will run 20 weeks starting June 16. You can sign up for a full share ($450) or half share ($230) with plenty of options for Tuesday or Saturday pickups, optional delivery, extra flower shares and season extensions. Find more details and sign up at the website, where you can also learn more about each of the participating farms, the pros and cons of joining a CSA, and what a share box might include.

* We are currently full for the 2015 season but you can add your name to the wait list in case we're able to add more members this summer!
